The Challenge

Popular female fashion brand For Love & Lemons (FL&L) was aware of its international potential, selling across the world from its website as well as via various online resellers, department stores and boutiques. With such a huge global demand, the brand was looking to improve its direct-to-consumer (DTC) offering and grow its international business. FL&L had previously worked with a solution provider which enabled some webstore localisation, however, it had no language localisation, was difficult to customise and heavy JavaScript coding slowed down the brand’s website. FL&L also lacked guidance, support and market best practices to optimise its proposition to meet the local preferences of its international customers. This meant the brand had to create individual strategies for each market, then deploy, test and monitor them over time to assess the effectiveness of each strategy to enhance conversion rates. This lengthy process hindered FL&L’s global growth potential and stood in the way of the brand achieving its international business KPIs.

FL&L was in search of a global e-commerce partner to help drive its growth ambitions. The Results

Within just one year since partnering with Global-e, FL&L has seen impressive growth in its international D2C business. By tailoring and optimising its offering per market, including pricing strategy, shipping and tax and duty proposition, FL&L has been able to increase international order numbers by 297% YoY, with a 158% YoY increase in conversion rate, contributing to an impressive 162% YoY international revenue growth.

FL&L has seen remarkable growth in its key markets, including Australia, Canada and the UK. In Canada, FL&L has seen impressive growth since implementing a new tax and duty strategy. Based on Global-e’s data-driven recommendation, the brand now includes all duties within its product pricing, presenting local sales tax at the checkout. This gives Canadian customers the same shopping experience that they expect from domestic websites and has contributed to an increase of 78% YoY in conversion rates in the market and a 250% YoY increase in order numbers. In Australia and the UK, FL&L can now present its shoppers with browsing prices inclusive of local taxes and duties when applicable, tailoring the shopping experience to be in line with the domestic shopping experience to optimise conversion rates and sales.

Through tailoring and optimising its offering, FL&L has also achieved significant growth in leading European markets. For example, Germany has become a top-five market for the brand, following a 698% YoY increase in conversion rate, which has contributed to four-figure growth in order numbers. France has also advanced as a top-five market for FL&L, with a 113% YoY increase in conversion rate.

Since implementing Global-e’s global e-commerce solution, FL&L has also successfully grown sales and revenues in additional markets that have become top markets for the brand.
